Typical use of the 14 hours recording time:
———- DAY ONE ———-
– You arrive to the studio to find everything set up already, including the monitoring system
– 1 hour is spent with the drummer to find the right drum sound
– 30 mins are spend with the bass player to find the right bass sound
– 1 hour is spent with the guitar players to find the right guitar sounds
In the next hour you start playing your material, warming up. While you do that, I tweak further to improve both what we record and how well you hear yourselves in the headphones
– 3.5 hours recording your songs, with you playing live
———- DAY TWO ———-
– 30 mins listening back to what recorded the day before, selecting the takes on which you will be overdubbing the main vocals, background vocals, lead guitar/keyboard and any other parts
– 5.5 hours for overdubbing vocals and other instruments as needed
– 1 hour for final listen back and indentifying any edits needed
