Mixing your album – EP – demo

Online mixing services are widely available, as well as Edinburgh studios offering “per track”, fixed-price mixing. While these are perfectly valid solutions, I take a more personal approach.

To me every project is totally different and depends on too many disparate elements to price it “per song”. Besides, what does “mixed” mean? There are very different standards of quality you can aspire to, and they involve different amounts of work.

The best thing is this: you come to see me, bring your files with you, we listen together and discuss different options, artistic choices, prices etc there and then. Completely obligation-free. Meeting in person it will also become clearer if we are on the same wavelength, which is pretty important if I am to work on your music.

Please note that this isn’t a way of hiding being more expensive than other places: I am not! In fact, it is quite the contrary. You will find my pricing affordable and reasonable. See next section.

Ball park prices, just to give you an idea

– For a full band (drums, bass, guitars, vocals + a few overdubs) mixing for one track can vary between £ 100 and £ 180, depending how good you want it to sound, number of revisions and whether we use digital or analogue gear.

– for acoustic material and anything without a drum kit this can go down to almost half price (depending on the number of instruments involved)

– the more songs you have, the cheaper it gets per song
